Bringing a new puppy into a new and strange environment can be a stressful for both the puppy and caregiver.
Imagine being taken away from your brothers and sisters to a completely strange environment where "strangers" speak in a completely differently language.
Puppies must wonder why these people do not whine or bark like my siblings. Nor do they growl or push me away with their muzzle.
We as owners have to treat the new addition to the family with a gentle approach. Introduce them into a new environment slowly but surely. Give your puppy some time with gentle guidance and patience for him to naturally fit into the new environment.
Make sure your puppy has a place to call his own, a little corner to curl and snuggle up to feel comfortable. Create an environment where he can slowly adapt well from being next to his siblings - all warm and fussy to being alone in a huge CRATE with new smells and strange noises. Leave him something to cuddle up to when sleeping alone at night.
The next question I will ask is - Have you as an owner wondered why your puppy whines and yelps for attention the minute they see you getting ready for work to walk out that door?
We will update you with more on introducing your furbaby into your home.
Later.........Playful Paws
